Section 3: Community Involvement
I attend regular meetings with partner organisations and agencies to support and promote the ward. I liaise with Community Housing to help tenants with housing problems. I work with West Mercia Police which includes both the Police & Crime Commissioner and the Safer Neighbourhood Team to tackle issues ranging from Anti-Social Behaviour to speeding and inconsiderate and illegal parking. I work with both Planning and Worcestershire Regulatory Services to assist residents.
Section 4: Assisting Constituents
I primarily receive communication from residents by email, but also by telephone calls. There are a wide range of issues, from concerns about housing, speeding, planning, community transport. Additionally, residents will raise issues that concern localised neighbour problems. I am a member of a number of local Facebook groups and respond where appropriate and again residents use this media to raise issues that concern them. I deliver to every household in the ward around 4 times a year a newsletter. I work with both Community Housing and the Police on a walkabout around the ward on a regular basis which affords residents the opportunity to contact me directly.
Section 5: Supplementary Information
I use the Community Leadership fund to promote the community transport provided by Dial-A-Ride and have funded works carried out to launch the new 21st Wyre Forest Scout Group. As an elected councillor I endeavour to assist whenever I can, or if the matter lies outside the responsibility of the District Council work with the County Council or with the Member of Parliament if appropriate.
