Notes:
ANNUAL REPORT OF ACTIVITIES 2010/11
Ward Activities this year, including outside bodies:
As a Ward councillor, my main activities have been aimed at providing a service to the residents of Greenhill Ward by keeping them informed about local issues and responding to their complaints and enquiries. Much of this work is based around the delivery of the Greenhill Matters newsletter.
Ward Councillors are invited by the Community Housing Group, the main social housing partner of the Council, to attend the meetings of the Tenant Consultative Committees (TCC) which involve their wards, and I have attended all four meetings of the Greenhill Tenant Consultative Committee (TCC), and two meetings of the Aggborough and Spennells Tenant Consultative Committee (TCC). It was not possible to attend both of the Annual Meetings of these bodies as they occurred at the same time.
West Mercia Police invite Councillors to attend PACT meetings (Partners and Communities Together) and I have attended meetings of the Greenhill Ward PACT. I have attended two of the four meetings of this body.
I am a Local Education Authority appointed member of, and have attended meetings of, the Offmore Primary School Governors and their committees.
As a Wyre Forest District Councillor representing a Kidderminster ward, I am a member of the Charter Trustees of the Town of Kidderminster. I have attended meetings of this body, including robed public meetings in support of the Town Mayor, such as:
• Mayor Making
• Mayor's Sunday
• Remembrance Sunday.
During this year I chaired the Treasury Management Review Panel. This scrutiny panel considered the investment policy of the Council in the light of the Icelandic banking crisis and served to enlighten members in this technical financial area.
I have been a member of the board of the Horsefair, Broadwaters and Greenhill Partnership since its inception in 2003. This year I have taken part in the BIG Lottery Steering Group which the HBGP have set up as the group which will aid community groups to access lottery funding which will see a million pounds channelled to the local community over the next ten years.
