Highlights:
This year I called two public meetings. The first one was to discuss the development of the Lea Castle Site. The second one was in relation to the proposed Gypsy, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople development at Lea Castle (this was a separate meeting to the one called by the District Council). The attendance, interest and contribution by local people showed how close knit a community we are. The outcome of these meetings was that the community were eager to see the site developed and many ideas were proposed, for example, a retirement village, hospice, housing, employment and leisure opportunities. The key message was that it should be a multi purpose site. The Community were keen to be involved with any proposed developments. I wish to thank everybody for their immense contributions.
The Senior Citizens Christmas Party was held in January and was well attended and a good time was had by all! At the party everyone agreed that we should hold it in January and would in future be called a ˇ§New Year Partyˇ¨ and we will still have carols and crackers!!
