ANNUAL REPORT OF ACTIVITIES 2010/11
Ward Activities this year, including outside bodies:
• Campaigning for a crossing by the Spennells Play Area.
• Removal of large tree in Merganser Way involving lengthy talks with District Council.
• Planting 13,000 daffodil bulbs on Spennells and oak trees (x 24) to replace those taken down.
• Negotiated with Council to erect bollards/kissing gate to prevent motorcycles gaining access to fields on the bridleway known as Route 537.
• Ongoing negotiations with Worcestershire County Council to try and block access to end of Mill Lane as 12 properties are experiencing robberies and damage to their homes day and night.
• Continuing to work with Worcester County Council to reduce the speed limit from 60 mph to 40 mph on Wilden Lane.
• Efforts are still continuing to resolve the problem in Cobham Wood by negotiating with Wyre Forest Community Housing.
• Several issues regarding Wyre Forest Housing i.e. evictions.
• Continuing with efforts to fill potholes.
• New manhole covers in Spennells.
• Resurfaced a section of road in Linnet Rise.
• Negotiating with Worcestershire County Council regarding double yellow lines opposite bus stop on edge of Captains Pool Road.
• Regular surgeries held.
• Hoo Road reduce speeding
