ANNUAL REPORT OF ACTIVITIES 2010/11
Ward Activities this year, including outside bodies:
Governor at Bewdley Primary School. Have been involved in new anti bullying policy and other decisions. Looking at School Development Plan.

Have held surgery at Arley to try and support the rural areas of the Ward.

Sent regular newsletters informing of Council matters.

Member of Bewdley Town Council, act as a consulting body on town planning issues and local improvements

Regularly attend Bewdley Development Trust's Environment and Town Centre Group.

Board Member of Wyre Forest Community Housing, sitting on the Sheltered Housing Board and the Worcestershire Telecare Board. Have attended training sessions for board members and am on the Supporting People Working Group.

I also represent the Council on the Kidderminster and District Youth Trust.

Highlights:
The refurbishment of the Wyre Hill Play Area, talking to users and supporting the improvements along with the Town Council who pick up the maintenance costs.

Being a part of the Parking Review which agreed on equitable charging and conditions for Bewdley.

Visiting Portishead which is a regeneration scheme on a large site which was previously waste land and an old gas works. It was inspiring to see a vibrant housing and social area brought about by collaboration between partners with a joined-up approach.

Being elected a Town Councillor and knowing I can help in supporting the town I represent at District level.

Special Knowledge:
I was a Health professional for thirty eight years and have a wide knowledge of the area and its residents. As well as my professional qualifications and knowledge of disability issues I have had training in counselling skills, customer care and interviewing skills, a supervisory and management diploma, risk management and palliative care.

I have been active in Scouting for over twenty five years and have extensive experience of working with adults and children including Safeguarding. I have completed all the rigorous training required and am a Training Advisor for adults and a member of the Appointments Advisory Committee which screens all adults wishing to work with young people and also deals with disciplinary issues.

I have lived in Bewdley since 1973 so know the town well.
