ANNUAL REPORT OF ACTIVITIES 2008/09

Activities
My main activities this year have been at a local level and include issues such as play areas, flooding, maintenance of roads and footpaths, invasive lighting at a bus stop, consultation on speed management around a local school, planning issues and the general needs of the community.
I have attended meetings of the Town and Parish Councils, the Environment and Town Centre Group of the Bewdley Development Trust, Bewdley Residents Flood Committee and the Riverside Children's Centre.
I am a member of the Wyre Forest Citizens Advice Bureau Management Committee and attend regularly.
District presentations I have attended include the annual Leisure Tour, Partnerships Tour and a County Conference on Climate Change.
I attended the Annual General Meeting of the Worcester Acute Trust and also a presentation by the Army on recruitment and awareness.
Council Activities
I sit on the Corporate Services Committee and am Vice Chairman. This includes holding briefing meetings with Officers and a pre-meeting team brief.
I am also a member of the Regeneration and Enterprise Scrutiny Committee, Licensing and Environment Committee, Bewdley Museum Management Committee and the No Barriers Review Panel.
I also sat on the No Surprises Scrutiny Panel and am a Local Authority Governor of Bewdley Primary School and have completed my New Governor Induction Modules.
Achievements During the Year
I consider one of my main achievements this year was participation in the Budget Review Panel, being part of the process which oversaw a successful conclusion to a Financial Strategy, which will prudently serve the residents of Wyre Forest.
I have also become more involved in local activities and needs, particularly the rural areas of my ward.
