Section 2: PACT Meetings
Number of Meetings Attended: 6
In Blakebrook & Habberley South, we have two area PACT Meetings covering the ward – the original Sutton Park PACT and a mobile PACT on Habberley Estate (which replaced the original meeting-type version). BHS Sutton Park has always maintained regular PACT meetings and has had the same excellent Chair consistently throughout. My BHS colleagues and I are regular attendees. When these meetings began, we would regularly get 20-30 attendees, more if there was a particular issue, but regularly there would be new faces. We now have a consistent 7-8 regular attendees and sadly rarely do we get any new people attend. The issues raised are fairly consistent – parking, street lighting, conditions of pavements and roads, etc. ASB-type issues will also be raised with the Police.
The Habberley Estate mobile PACT consists of the Police with their community vehicle parked outside the shops talking to residents passing by. Last time, I gave out Smartwater packs to local residents. Previously the Police have given out preventative safety devices, such as bells for purses etc as well as general preventative advice. We have probably had 30 residents attend all 3 PACTs in total.

Section 4: Assisting Constituents
I have a 100% record of responding to casework issues raised with me by local residents. It would be very time and space consuming to list them all, but as examples:
I have carried out investigations in respect of ASB in Pineridge Drive. I have had a bus shelter reinstated on Bewdley Hill. We have surveyed residents in respect of the Bus Service on Habberley Estate and Crown House. I have had double yellow lines installed in Talbot Street, Claughton Street and Claughton Court. Various areas have been litter picked including Park Street and Wood Street. I have had bushes/trees cut in various areas, including Park Butts Ringway and Lea Bank Avenue, which has also been resurfaced. I have had a white lining scheme installed in Summerhill Avenue and speeding investigated in Franchise Street, Woodward Road and Canterbury Road. I have asked for drains to be unblocked in Washington Street and Bewdley Hill. A new street nameplate has been supplied for Hume Street and a dropped kerb installed in Broomfield Road.
I respond either by phone, email or letter, to suit the resident, we also include response slips in our newsletters, of which we have delivered about 30,000 across the ward. My mobile phone number is quoted in newsletters, so I am contactable 7 days a week.
I offer ward surgeries every week, on demand.
Together with Churches Together in Kidderminster and my fellow Conservative Ward Cllrs, I help put on the annual Easter Egg Hunt in Brinton Park. Last year it absolutely poured down so we had to decamp to Holy Innocents Church but still managed to accommodate around 330 local children and their families. This year, I was one of the balloon modellers and a good time was had by all!
This year, my Ward Colleagues and I put on a Smartwater Event at Holy Innocents Church Hall, giving out free packs of Smartwater which enables residents to protect their property. This event alone enabled over 60 additional homes to be protected with Smartwater.
