Notes:
ANNUAL REPORT OF ACTIVITIES 2010/11
Ward Activities this year, including outside bodies:
During my first year as Councillor for Franche I have found it to be extremely diverse with varying issues like parking, speeding, anti social behaviour, litter and potholes to name a few.
I have worked closely on common issues in with my colleagues Councillor Anne Hingley and Councillor Jeff Baker.
I have attended Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meetings to hear concerns and keep local resident informed of what is going on.
I have attended the Franche Tenant Association to any listen to any concerns and updated local residents.
As Vice Chair of Governors at Franche Community Primary School I am taking a real interest in the future development of the school by attending governors meeting and being part of the Access and Inclusions Committee for the school.
Highlights:
During the year personally all of the activities have been a highlight. But if I were to pick a few, the first would be the work that been done as part of the Scrutiny Committee. Throughout the year the Corporate Resources Scrutiny Committee have reviewed and discussed on a variety of topics and I feel we have played an important part of the Council process.
The second would be the work we continue to do as a governor at Franche Community Primary School.
Special Knowledge:
I have a degree in Business Management, which supports my understanding of the issues faced of a council delivering quality and efficient front line services. This helps me especially on the Audit and Corporate Resources Scrutiny Committees.
I have also attended:
Audit Training
Planning Training
Scrutiny Training
Housing Training
Chairmanship Training
Attendance Percentage for 2010/11
81%.
