ANNUAL REPORT OF ACTIVITIES 2010/11
Ward Activities this year, including outside bodies:
This year I have dealt with enquires from people in my ward on the following maters :
The lack of disable access on First Buses , the removal of a dead animal form the nature reserve ,the little Red Trucks using Piggy Ally ,anti-social behaviour happening in various parts of the ward , the litter in various areas in the ward , damp issues in property , disputes between neighbours ,
Overcrowding and damage to bus shelters.
I have also attended training as part of being a board member on the Community Housing Group I have also attended meetings as a committee member .
I continue to be on the governing body at Birchen Coppice Primary and have continued to go into school regularly.
I am still PACT (Partners and Communities Together) chair and continue to bring forward issues that are arising within the community
I attend meeting with Oldington and Foley Park Local Management Board
I have attended tenants committees , I have also taken part in walkabouts within my ward, I have taken part in two tidy up days; one of which was fancy dress , I have also taken part in tree planting at Woodbury Road play area
I have taken part in a street collection for Help For Heroes
Highlights:
In my first year it has been a steep learning curve for me I have enjoyed learning all the new skills needed to help me preformed as an effective Councillor.
Seeing the new Birchen Coppice Primary School completed and seeing what a huge difference it has made to everyone who uses it and the look on the faces of the first children to enter it on that first morning as they went into their classroom for the first time
Being able to take part in the decision making processes for the District Council.
Special Knowledge:
Knowledge of the area and getting to know more people who live within the ward .
The abilities to be able to listen to their concerns , being approachable
